Elton John is a featured guest on the new Queens of the Stone Age album, ...Like Clockwork.  The legendary singer-songwriter-pianist apparently approached the band about the collaboration.

Front-man Josh Homme told XFM that Elton John heard Homme in his other band, Them Crooked Vultures (which features Homme on guitar and vocals, Led Zeppelin's John Paul Jones on bass, and Foo Fighters' Dave Grohl on drums).  Elton's assistant urged him to listen Queens of the Stone Age.  Then, Homme says:

"So all of a sudden I get a phone call at my house on a Sunday. I picked up and he said: ‘Hello Josh, this is Elton’. I thought someone was messing with me. He said, ‘The only thing missing from your band is an actual queen!’  I said, Honey, you have no idea."

Queens of the Stone Age will release ...Like Clockwork on June 4th.
