A serious medical situation involving Mumford & Sons bassist Ted Dwane has forced the band to postpone a handful of upcoming concerts.

According to the band, Dwane was taken to the hospital to receive emergency treatment.  At the hospital, it was revealed that the musician has a blood clot on the surface of his brain that requires an operation.

The band says that they are being assured that Ted will recover quickly from surgery.

Mumford & Sons will postpone concerts in Dallas, Woodlands, and New Orleans.  Those shows were scheduled for Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, respectively.  They will be re-scheduled and previously purchased tickets will be honored.

This weekend, the band is scheduled to headline at Bonnaroo.  At this time, that show is still expected to happen.
