Fox is developing a sitcom based on the life of Weezer front-man Rivers Cuomo.  According to DeadlineCuomo is working with Steve Franks (best known as the creator of Psyche).

The show, which only has a pilot commitment (meaning you may never actually see it), is called DeTour.

The premise of DeTour is based on a thirtysomething rock star who, "unable to rationalize his success and worried that he may not have the tools to repeat it, walks away from the spotlight at the height of his fame in an effort to rediscover the parts of his life he missed while he was busy becoming a massive success."

Cuomo attended Harvard University on and off throughout the late 1990's and early 2000's, but he took a break from Weezer eight years ago to finish his degree.  This experience will be the core of the show.

Weezer is celebrating the 20th anniversary of their debut self-titled album (AKA: The Blue Album).  They will release their ninth studio album, Everything Will Be Alright in the End, on October 7.
