Two NC Men Use Fake Child Dummy to Lure Carjacking Victims

The Carteret County Sheriff's Office is looking for any information on an attempted carjacking that took place in Beaufort, North Carolina, near Morehead City.

A 33-year-old woman called police to report a dummy placed in the middle of the road near 1:30 a.m. that looked like a child.  As she drove closer to investigate if it was someone who needed help, she said two white males in dark hoodies pulled on the door handles of her vehicle.  Since she was still in drive, her doors were locked and she drove away immediately.

Major Jason Wank sent a press release asking for any information to lead to the identification of the two individuals.

The dummy has been seized and destroyed.
