"Game of Thrones" fans, take note. If you're looking for a unique wedding experience, this might be for you.
Charlotte-based photographer Katherine Elena Photography came up with the idea for the wedding and worked with many local vendors to put the entire idea together. "I knew that it would be a tough style to recreate while still managing to keep it elegant enough for a wedding," she said.
Basing her inspiration off of two of the strong women in the show, Daenerys Targaryen and Sansa Stark, Katherine reached out to local clothes designer RCP Fashion to create the gowns both women would wear. "These two women are both very strong and beautiful but have a soft, elegant side to them as well," Elena said of her inspiration.
With a plan in mind, she and her vendors made their way to Smithmore Castle in Spruce Pine, a 121-acre private mountain estate, to find the perfect backgrounds.
And what's a "Game of Thrones" idea without a dire wolf? Full Moon Farm Wolfdog Sanctuary provided River, their Ambassadog.
The best part? All of these amazing vendors are local!
