Selena Gomez Makes First Red Carpet Appearance Since Mental Health Hiatus

Selena Gomez has been a longtime supporter of WE Day, so it was no surprise to see the pop titan on the red carpet of their 2019 affaat The Forum in Los Angeles on Thursday (April 25).

For the show, which celebrates youth advocacy in social change, Gomez stunned in a simple black Dior dress with matching Tamara Mellon heels. It's the 26-year-old's first appearance following treatment after her late 2018 hospitalization. "I just know everyone that's a part of this organization for years now, and I've witnessed what they do and how they celebrate young kids that are changing the world completely, one step at a time and I come here and cry at least twice while I'm here," the former host of the event told ET about her attendance. Among the other stars at the celebration included Natalie Portman, Joe Jonas, Meghan Trainor, Naomi Campbell, Hailee Steinfeld, Mahershala Ali, Chance The Rapper, Nina Dobrev and Pentatonix. Expect to see Gomez and the rest of the stars when WE Day airs on ABC on August 9 at 8P ET. The event was hosted by Neil Patrick Harris.

Earlier this week, Gomez made headlines for Coach's first episode of its new Dream It Real podcast, where she spoke about her public persona and how many think she's too PR trained. "I always say this and maybe I repeated it too much, but I don’t really think people know my heart because I think that sometimes people may think that I politically say the right thing or I’m safe or I’ve been trained to speak this way. I don’t know how to be trained, like how on earth would someone be training me to speak things?" she explained. Click here for more on her appearance!
