Coldplay Is Planning 'A Couple More Shows' Before Taking Tour Hiatus

Chris Martin has made it clear that Coldplay plans on taking a break from touring until they can figure out a way to make it more sustainable; however, it sounds like fans might have a few chances to see the band live before it takes a hiatus.

During a recent interview with UK's Radio X, Martin revealed that they play to play "a couple more shows" to support their recently released album Everyday Life. “We’re only doing about three or four gigs, so we’re just starting to feel good and then we’ll stop again,” he said. “We have a very set plan and I think we’ll do maybe a couple of shows in America…in Los Angeles, and that will be it.”

"We're not touring this album," Martin revealed to BBC Radio last week. "We're taking time over the next year or two, to work out how our tour can not only be sustainable [but] how can it be actively beneficial."

"All of us have to work out the best way of doing our job," he continued, saying Coldplay want their future tours to "have a positive impact."

"Our dream is to have a show with no single-use plastic," he added, "to have it be largely solar-powered."

Coldplay celebrated the release of Everyday Life with a very special iHeartRadio album release party, where fans were able to listen to an exclusive interview with Martin and hear the band perform a mix of album tracks and classic hits.
