Eddie Vedder Shares New Song 'Cartography'

This week, Eddie Vedder shared a new song called "Cartography" as part of the Sub Pop Singles Club. The instrumental track is also featured in the Robert F. Kennedy documentary, Return to Mount Kennedy, which the Pearl Jam frontman scored. The song is joined by a remix from Yeah Yeah Yeahs’ Nick Zinner that includes audio of Robert F. Kennedy's response to Dr. Martin Luther King Jr's assassination.

“Listening to the speech delivered by Bobby Kennedy in regards to the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. 50 years ago, you are reminded that once again we are at a moment in time when our society can and must do better,” Vedder said in a press release. “Voting is our most powerful form of nonviolent protest.”

All song proceeds will support the national voting rights organization Fair Fight. Listen to both versions of "Cartography" below.

Vedder has been vocal about voting this year. On the 4th of July, he shared a message on Pearl Jam's Instagram profile about the importance of voting, and last month the band teamed up with Omaze to give away a once in a lifetime experience to one lucky fan while raising money to protect voter rights. He also started an Instagram account so he could show fans how to vote by mail.
