Voting on Election Day? Here's What to Expect in the Carolinas

While a record number of voters in North Carolina have cast their ballot before election day, there are still expected to be a lot of voters at the polls on election day. Here's what to expect if you're heading to the polls:

1. In North Carolina the polls are open from 6:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. Any voter in line at 7:30 p.m. will be able to cast a vote.

2. Do your research ahead of time to find the correct polling place. While early voters had a choice of 33 different voting locations in Mecklenburg County, on Election Day voters must go to their designated polling location to cast a vote. Find your polling place here

3. You can view a sample ballot before you head to the polls. Here's how to find yours

4. Voters are required to wear a mask in order to vote. Hand sanitizer will be available and social distancing will be enforced.
