Cry Us A River: Justin Timberlake Apologizes To Britney and Janet

Because of the massive backlash from the Britney Spears documentary by The New York Times, Justin Timberlake put out a public statement acknowledging that he was a major dickhole to the women around him, namely Britney and Janet Jackson. Justin says he "benefited from a system that condones misogyny", which ... yeah. You definitely did, Justin. After the 2004 Super Bowl, Janet Jackson's career suffered and Justin's thrived.

I tend to think that public apologies are worthless, because what really matters is that a person apologizes directly to the individual they've wronged and that they correct their bad behavior. But, it's nice to see that someone can at least have some self-awareness.

Justin was in his early twenties when he showed the world Janet Jackson's nipple and when he made a revenge song and video about Britney Spears. He's a 40-year-old man now. I hope there's been some growth in that time, but I'm still giving him serious side-eye. Is he actually sorry? There's no way to know. You can believe him or not, that's up to you.

If you haven't seen the doc, Framing Britney Spears, I definitely recommend you watch it this weekend. It's eye opening and a bit horrific. The trailer is below.
