April Fool's Prank: Woman Arrested After Telling Daughter She'd Been Shot

A Kansas woman has been arrested after telling her daughter she'd been shot as an April Fool's Day prank.

Apparently, 58-year-old Wichita resident Arnthia Willis thought it would be a hoot to call her daughter on Thursday and tell her she'd been shot by an intruder.

The freaked out daughter immediately called 911, and before long dozens of police officers had surrounded Willis' home and blocked off her street, according to a police report.

When no one responded, officers eventually broke down the front door and raided the residence -- only to find it empty, a police rep says.

Following a brief investigation, Willis was located in nearby Derby, where she was taken into custody Thursday afternoon, according to the Sedgwick County District Attorney's Office. It's unclear what charges she's facing.
