Michael was one in a million - he had a phenominal voice and his sex appeal was through the roof. He was, at least in my book, the second coming of Jim Morrison. Ok, so maybe he was one of two in a million.
He was born at the perfect time - the MTV years. He died much too soon.
I remember preparing for my show the morning of November 23, 1997. As usual we had enough requests to fill two complete shows let alone the 4 hour time slot.
One of my normal duties before taking the air was to clear the AP news wire. I seldom actually read any of it because I didn't want my zen to be ruined.
Then - it hit me: MICHAEL HUTCHENCE found Dead.
I rarely get emotional on air -but it was very difficult sharing that information with our Sunday morning family.
It was a special day - a sad day, but we do our part to keep his music alive.
We miss you Michael.
