Gordon Lightfoot, the Canadian singer and songwriter behind such hits as “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald,” “Sundown” and “If You Could Read My Mind,” died at age 84 on May 1st, his family has announced. The bummer of it was that we saw something like this coming. Earlier Gordon Lightfoot had canceled his upcoming U.S. and Canada tour dates due to health issues. His management released a statement earlier that read “Gordon Lightfoot announces the cancellation of his U.S. and Canadian concert schedule for 2023. The singer is currently experiencing some health related issues and is unable to confirm rescheduled dates at this time.” Let's remember Gordon the way he would've wanted it...by listening to the greatest folk song of all time!
