We are in the moment of the musical biopic: Bohemian Rhapsody, The Dirt and now Rocketman. This one, not surprisingly, is the story of Sir Elton John. The others I've mentioned have mostly been loved by audiences and hated by critics (even I would have liked to see more developed story lines in Bohemian Rhapsody but that's another blog). From what I'm seeing though, this could be the favorite yet. According to the Internet, this movie is "an epic musical fantasy about the uncensored human story of Sir Elton John’s breakthrough years". Now that's a bold statement. Epic musical fantasy?
