President Trump and First Lady Observe Moment of Silence for 9/11

President Trump and First Lady Melania Trump observed a moment of silence in remembrance of the 16th anniversary of September 11.

Members of the Trump family and staff stood on the South Lawn at 8:46 a.m. in silence, the exact time the first plane hit the first tower on that fateful day.

The President and First Lady then proceeded to the Pentagon ceremony alongside the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Gen. Joseph Dunford, and Secretary of Defense Jim Mattis.

Vice President Mike Pence spent the morning in Shanksville, Pennsylvania, where United Flight 93 crashed.
