Red Hot Chili Peppers performed at Austin City Limits over the weekend and took some time to pay tribute to a rock legend.

During their headlining set, the band covered Funkadelic's "What is Soul," dedicated it to Petty. "Tom Petty, if you're looking down, this one's for you, brother. You did not die in vain," frontman Anthony Kiedis said before the song.

Later in the set, guitarist Josh Klinghoffer gave a solo cover of "A Face in The Crowd" that got the entire audience in the spirit.
