Olympic High School on Lockdown after Social Media Threat

CHARLOTTE, N.C. - Olympic High School in southwest Charlotte was placed on lockdown Tuesday morning due to a threat made on social media, officials said.

Dozens of concerned parents contacted Channel 9 before 8:30 a.m. trying to find out what was going on at the school.

Authorities have not released many details but the principal said the campus on Sandy Porter Road was on lockdown as a precaution due to the social media threat.

Principal Erik Olejarczyk said students and staff are safe, but that nobody is allowed on or off the campus until the lockdown is lifted.
