California To Become First State To Ban Hair Discrimination

Afros, braids, and any other hairstyle that may have been previously called "unkempt," will be protected under new legislation

The CROWN Act will ban racial discrimination against wearing certain natural hairstyles.

California lawmakers have passed a bill to protect black employees and students by outlawing discrimination against people who wear Afros, braids, dreadlocks and twists.
