Study Says Don't Drink Water on an Airplane Unless You Want E. coli

Who is actually drinking water from the tap on a plane? Already feels like I'm sittin' in the sink. Y'all nasty

The study found a host of bacteria in the water on airplanes, including E. coli.

While you're thinking: I don't drink from the sink. That water is used for coffee and tea. The study even suggests not using the water to wash your hands, opting for hand sanitizer as a safer option.

The 2019 Airline Water Study ranks the quality of airline water on a score of zero to five, basing their Water Health Score on 10 criteria including fleet size, ADWR violations, positive E. coli and coliform water sample report and more, with a score of three or better indicating the water is relatively safe and clean.
