Full disclosure: I am a Dunkin Donuts girl. But today is the day that Starbucks launches the Fall season with their Pumpkin Spice Latte (in August!) and America is losing it. I love lattes and I do love the Pumpkin Spice but why the insanity? If this is the drink that signals "IT'S FALL Y'ALL!" then can we not hold back a while until it actually feels like Fall, y'all? I mean, the high today is about 125 with full humidity. I do not feel like curling up with my boots and my infinity scarf and my pumpkin things. This is the South, people. It's still pool time. Frank left for work early this morning specifically to pick up a PSL (from Dunks) and he is sooooo excited. He's from Maine where it will be snowing soon and he's also part 17 year old girl, so....
America is divided on this one- those who hate it all together (like Woody) because not only is it not Fall but the Pumpkin Spice Latte really did start all-things-pumpkin in this country. Those who are beside themselves because it's #omgthebestthingever. And those in my circle who just want to enjoy these last few days of summer. Everything has it's time and place, right? So stop with your Pumpkin Spice in August, Starbucks.
