The nominations for the 39th Golden Raspberry Awards were announced on January 21, 2019. The Razzies are the opposite of the Oscars, recognizing all things bad in the film industry. Nominations are always revealed one day prior to the Oscar nominations. The winners will be announced on February 23.
Up for the worst picture of the year is Gotti, The Happytime Murders, Holmes and Watson, Robin Hood, and Winchester.
Melissa McCarthy was nominated for a Razzie on Monday and an Oscar on Tuesday. Her Razzie nomination is for The Happytime Murders, in which she played a cop that worked with a muppet partner. Her Academy Award nomination is for her performance in Can You Ever Forgive Me?, a movie about an author who forges literary letters. Other contenders for Worst Actress are Jennifer Garner, Amber Heard, Helen Mirren, and Amanda Seyfried.
