Seriously, how many levels of approval did these jeans have to do through before production and then distribution?? NO ONE was like, "hey, guys, maybe not the best idea"?

They're sold exclusively at Target. They have little METAL stars all over the bottom of the legs. Yeah, these things aren't really secured on there either. No, the sides of the stars have been bending and friggin' cutting kids.
