We all know that the eggs we buy at the grocery store are far from the freshest, but there's actually an easy way to see which are the most fresh.
The key: look for the Julian date, which is the last three digits near the expiration date!
EXAMPLE: if you see "004," the eggs were packed on January 4th.
The math gets harder as the year goes on, but that's why we have Google in the palm of our hand!
012 is the Julian date (date eggs were packed). Numbers start at 001 (Jan 1) through 365 (Dec 31). Sell by date is Feb 10.— the happy egg co USA (@HappyEggCoUSA) February 15, 2017
