She's been part of YOUR Thanksgiving for over 60 years! No she didn't invent Turkey, but pretty darn close. She's Dorcas Reilly and sadly she passed away in October.
Ms. Reilly 'invented' Green Bean Bake while working for the Campbell Soup company in 1955. Today we call it Green Bean Casserole and it's probably the 5th most popular food item consumed on Thanksgiving.
Turkey, Stuffing, Mashed Potatoes, Cranberry Sauce and yes - Green Bean Casserole.
